The Thorne Miniature Rooms @ the Art Institute, Chicago

I love the Thorne Miniatures. I visited the Art Institute a few weeks ago, without planning to take photographs of the rooms, but it was one of those breathless moments where you think “taking a picture of this tiny little room through a piece of glass with lights behind me is a bad idea” and then you do it anyway and it looks really cool and so you keep snapping.
Now I want to go back and make a project of them.
I used the Fuji x100T with the Classic Chrome film simulation, and I think that’s where the magic happened. It’s magic to me, anyway.
It’s also pretty easy to take a photograph of a tiny little room that’s been beautifully lit by a bunch of art curators. But whatever.
I’ll be heading back. It’s on the project list now.
